The general purpose of this study is to analyze the contract in its contemporaneity, presenting its attached duties along with the principle of objective good faith within consumer law, aiming at evaluating the changes promoted by Law no. 14.181/21, which amended the Consumer Protection Code to protect the hyper vulnerable consumer of the overindebted and contemplate the responsible credit. At first, the duties attached to the contract will be explored, together with the principle of objective good faith, and later the changes in the Consumer Defense Code to combat over-indebtedness will be presented. The methodology used will be deductive and will include a bibliographical and documental study, as well as an analysis of Law 14.181/21 and its impact on preventing consumer over-indebtedness. Finally, it is concluded that the principles are present for the protection of the most vulnerable agent and the attached duties help so that the contract is more profitable for both parties, still the aforementioned law aims to improve financial education
