Objective: The research discusses the patient's will as a fundamental principle of bioethics.fundamental principle of bioethics, reflecting respect for the autonomy and dignity of the individual indignity in decisions related to their health, and is closely linked tocivil capacity. The doctor must respect the patient's autonomy, under penalty ofprinciples of bioethics and the Code of Medical Ethics. Thisautonomy is linked to the patient's civil capacity for the purposes ofthe implications that the medical act may have. Furthermore, thethe right to information plays a crucial role, as it guarantees that the patientreceive all the necessary explanations about their diagnosis and treatment options, allowing them to make informedtreatment options, allowing them to make informed decisions and exercise their autonomyautonomy, thus ensuring the patient's freedom to make decisions about theirhealth in an ethical and legally protected manner. Methodology: the methodmethod adopted is based mainly on bibliographical and documentary research, bythrough the analysis of works related to Constitutional Civil Law, NegotiatedNegotiation Law and Biodirectory Law, as well as the relevant legislation. Results: Patientof the patient is correlated with the duty of information, capacity andto understand the acts to be carried out.
