This is a reflective and interpretative analysis based on the documentary "O Renascimento do Parto 3". The methodology used explores social representations regarding the health/disease binomial in the current obstetric scenario. An approach was adopted that involved detailed analysis of the documentary's production elements and narrative structure, as well as the thematic categorization of its content. Through the lens of social sciences and public health, we examined how the film portrays different care environments, such as the Birth Center and the hospital, and how these representations influence birth care practices. The action of social actors in care is also addressed, exploring the medicalization of childbirth and social movements that seek a more humanized approach. The documentary emerges as an educational and awareness-raising resource, promoting a discussion about gender, class and racial inequalities, despite some limitations in the representation of less privileged groups.
