The present moment is marked by the female protagonism of Quilombola women in collective struggles for land/territory (Silva, 2022), for health, differentiated education, among other human rights that are fundamental for survival in the 21st century. In the Quilombola territory of Cruz da Menina, located within the rural area of the municipality of Dona Inês, in the Brazilian state of Paraíba, it is no different. It is Quilombola women who have brought social and political changes, thus transforming the reality of historical exclusions. In this regard, this article aims to bring visibility to the contemporary actions of black and Quilombola women from Cruz da Menina, as well as the formulation of female empowerment through the Community Association of Quilombo Survivors Cruz da Menina - CAQSCM (Associação da Comunidade dos Remanescentes de Quilombos Cruz da Menina - ACRQCM). To this end, we use life history as a methodology, which allows us to make use of a committed, engaged and participatory listening (Silva; Barros; Nogueira; Barros, 2007). In the end, through our analyses, we confirmed that a continuous process of female empowerment has been taking place in the territory of Cruz da Menina (Berth, 2019).
