ABSTRACT
This article aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities of working from home for achieving a balance between professional and personal life, as well as to identify organizational management strategies that promote this balance. To this end, a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach was adopted, based on a multiple case study. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with five professionals working from home, linked to different economic sectors. Data analysis followed the content analysis technique. The results revealed that, although remote work provides benefits such as flexible hours, elimination of commuting time and increased autonomy, it also poses significant challenges. Among the main obstacles are the difficulty of separating spaces and times dedicated to work and personal life, subjective overload, social isolation, ergonomic precariousness and hyperconnectivity. It was also observed that experiences vary according to the presence or absence of structured organizational policies. It is concluded that home office, in addition to its potential, requires management practices that include technical support, mental health care, regulated flexibility and promotion of digital disconnection. The study contributes to the literature on work management and quality of life, while also offering practical support for the development of more sustainable and inclusive work environments.
