This study aims to analyze the challenges faced by transgender and travesti individuals in accessing and remaining in the Brazilian formal labor market, considering the social context marked by structural transphobia and unequal opportunities. Within the broader theme of diversity and inclusion in organizations, the study seeks to understand how social, institutional, and organizational factors influence the professional trajectories of this population. The specific objectives are: to identify the social, cultural, and institutional barriers that hinder labor market inclusion; to investigate the individual and collective strategies used to mitigate these obstacles; and to analyze the impacts of these difficulties on the quality of life and professional development of trans people. Methodologically, this is a qualitative and descriptive study conducted through multiple case studies. Data collection occurred through semi-structured interviews with three participants who self-identify as transgender or travesti, either employed or seeking insertion in the formal labor market. Data were analyzed using content analysis, which allowed the identification of patterns, divergences, and meanings emerging from the narratives. The results highlight persistent barriers such as discrimination in recruitment processes, workplace microaggressions, lack of inclusive policies, disrespect for social names, and difficulties using gendered facilities. They also reveal coping strategies such as identity management, pursuit of professional qualification, entrepreneurship, support networks, and engagement in social movements. The study concludes that the effective inclusion of trans individuals requires structured institutional actions, ethical-political commitment, and organizational policies that promote equity and recognition.
