Understanding that university teaching requires the construction and development of specific knowledge to the profession, this text presents a research with the objective of identifying the knowledge that is necessary for the practice of university teaching from the perspective of undergraduates graduating from six courses in the area of Human Sciences and Education from a public state university in Paraná. The methodology adopted was library research supported by field research. For data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire was used, having as participants forty eight students enrolled in the last year of courses at the Area Center of Human Sciences and Education on a university campus. It was considered that university teaching implies a series of knowledge and skills that need to be mobilized in the professional practice, with reflection as a tool for the improvement and quality of pedagogical practice.
