This study analyzes the efficiency of dairy production in the state of Pará, Brazil, between 2000 and 2019, using an innovative approach that integrates John Stuart Mill's System of Deductive and Inductive Logic with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The research used data from IBGE's Municipal Livestock Survey, covering 144 municipalities. Results revealed a 59% increase in total milk production, from 380,319 thousand liters in 2000 to 605,193 thousand liters in 2019, with significant regional variations. The Araguaia region stood out with the largest herd size and production, while Rio Capim showed high productive efficiency. The study identified determining factors of efficiency, such as management practices and environmental conditions, providing valuable insights for public policies and management in Pará's dairy sector.
