Abstract
The study analyzed the profile of patients affected by COVID-19 in the state of Sergipe. This is an ecological, analytical study, with data on diagnosed patients and those who died from COVID-19, in the state of Sergipe, from April 2020 to March 2023. Descriptive analysis was used through absolute and relative percentages, and comparisons between the years of infection and death (2020, 2021 and 2022, 2023) using Pearson's chi-square and Pearson's chi-square tests with Monte-Carlo simulations. Between the analyzed period, the number of cases totaled 354.851, while the number of deaths was 6.488. It was found that, in Sergipe, the profile of patients affected by COVID-19 was predominantly female, brown, aged between 20 and 39 years.
