This article aims to describe the experience of holding a discussion group on sexual education in a State Technical School. This is a descriptive study, in the form of an experience report, developed in the Life Project discipline, with the participation of 19 students, in November 2023. Four moments were carried out: reception and explanation of the topic, discussion and clarification of doubts, use of flashcards and identification plates on myths and truths, and final reflection with the organization of a tour of the school to share information on the topic. The activity provided a space for open dialogue, where the results indicated that the discussion group was effective in clarifying concepts about anatomy, consent, contraceptive methods and prevention of sexually transmitted infections, in addition to demystifying erroneous beliefs. The use of interactive dynamics, such as the “question box” and flashcards, provided more critical and meaningful learning. The active participation of the students and the safe and welcoming environment, facilitated by the teacher, were fundamental to the success of the activity. It is concluded that holding discussion groups on sexual education in schools is an extremely important educational practice that contributes to the development of more informed, critical and reflective adolescents who are able to make responsible decisions about their sexuality. Therefore, the continuity and expansion of these actions in schools are essential for the comprehensive education of students and for the promotion of sexual and reproductive health.
